Global K-pop sensation Stray Kids has achieved a significant milestone, earning gold certification from the French National Phonographic Industry Association for their 2024 hit single, “Chk Chk Boom.” JYP Entertainment officially announced this prestigious achievement on Friday.
The French organization recognized the track for surpassing an impressive 15 million streams within the country. While this marks the first time the dynamic boy group has gone gold in France with a single, Stray Kids has previously secured gold status for four of their albums, each selling over 50,000 units: their third LP “5-Star,” eighth EP “Rock-Star,” ninth EP “Ate,” and mixtape “Hop.”
“Chk Chk Boom,” which serves as the powerful lead track from the group’s ninth EP “Ate,” has also demonstrated its widespread global appeal. The single made a notable debut on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart at No. 49 and climbed to a peak position of No. 30 on the UK’s Official Singles Chart, further solidifying Stray Kids’ international presence.
In further recognition of their growing influence in the music industry, Stray Kids has also received a nomination for Best Male K-pop Artist at the upcoming 2026 American Music Awards.
