K-pop powerhouse Seventeen has achieved a significant milestone, earning “million certification” from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) for their 11th EP, “Seventeenth Heaven.” This impressive recognition was officially announced by the organization on Friday.
The record-breaking mini-album, “Seventeenth Heaven,” surpassed 1 million shipments as of June, solidifying its status as a major success. This marks the third time the global K-pop sensation has earned such an honor, following their acclaimed first Japanese EP, “Dream,” and their immensely popular 10th EP, “FML.”
Expressing their gratitude, the bandmates shared through Pledis Entertainment, “We are delighted and happy to learn this amazing news,” extending heartfelt thanks to their dedicated fanbase for their unwavering support.
Released in October 2024, the eight-track EP made K-pop history by selling over 5 million copies in its first week alone. Beyond its incredible sales, “Seventeenth Heaven” also dominated Oricon’s Daily, Weekly, and Weekly Combined Album Rankings. Internationally, the album soared to No. 2 on the prestigious Billboard 200 chart, maintaining a strong presence for five consecutive weeks.
