Global K-pop sensation BTS has achieved a remarkable feat, securing two coveted top spots on Oricon’s First-Half Rankings 2026, officially announced on Thursday.
Their highly anticipated fifth studio album, “Arirang,” spearheaded this success, dominating both the prestigious Album Ranking and Combined Album Ranking charts. This marks the septet’s second time topping the Album Ranking chart, an unprecedented achievement for an international music group. Furthermore, “Arirang” impressively surpassed 700,000 unit sales, a sales milestone not seen from an international male artist in 22 years, since Queen’s iconic compilation album “Jewels.” Notably, BTS also made history as the first-ever non-Japanese musician to claim the top position on the Combined Album Ranking chart.

In additional news, the iconic music video for BTS’s hit single “Dynamite” has reached an extraordinary milestone, surpassing 2.1 billion views on YouTube. This achievement is another first for the globally renowned group. Released in 2020, “Dynamite” famously became the first single by a K-pop act ever to seize the No. 1 position on Billboard’s coveted Hot 100 chart.
