K-pop sensation Cortis has officially surpassed the monumental 800 million streams mark on Spotify, Big Hit Music announced on Wednesday. This significant achievement was recorded as of Monday, solidifying Cortis’s rapid rise in the global music scene.
Debuting just last August, this trailblazing rookie K-pop boy group achieved this impressive streaming milestone in record time, making them the fastest K-pop boy group to do so. Their 800 million Spotify streams are attributed to 13 hit tracks, including five from their highly acclaimed first EP, “Color Outside the Lines,” six from their successful second EP, “Greengreen,” and their popular single “Mention Me,” featured as part of the original soundtrack for the Sony Pictures animation “GOAT.”
Leading this incredible streaming surge is “Redred,” the focus track from Cortis’s second mini-album, “Greengreen.” This breakout hit has already accumulated nearly 100 million plays on Spotify in under two months. “Redred” continues its global impact, currently charting at No. 52 on Billboard’s Global 200 and an impressive No. 29 on the Global Excl. US chart.
Cortis’s critically acclaimed second EP, “Greengreen,” has also demonstrated remarkable staying power on the prestigious Billboard 200 chart. The album has spent five consecutive weeks on the chart, currently holding the No. 50 position on the chart dated June 20, following its sensational debut at No. 3.
