The Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) proudly announced its participation for the second consecutive year as a key sponsor of the annual Congressional Baseball Game in Washington. This engagement underscores FKI’s strategic efforts to significantly boost Korean companies’ investment in the United States, strengthening bilateral economic ties.
During the recent Congressional Baseball Game (CBG) held at Nationals Park in Washington, the FKI actively highlighted over $240 billion in investments made by leading Korean companies in the U.S. economy since the first term of former US President Donald Trump. Promotional initiatives included impactful video advertisements, dedicated exhibition booths, and an exclusive skybox reception designed to foster engagement with influential lawmakers and opinion leaders.
The CBG, a venerable 117-year-old bipartisan charity event, unites members of the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate in friendly competition. It is widely recognized as one of Washington’s most prominent annual networking opportunities, drawing a diverse array of political and business figures.
Through a compelling video presentation, the FKI emphasized the profound influence of freedom, democracy, and free enterprise – values championed by the U.S. in Korea 75 years ago – on Korea’s remarkable global economic success. The presentation also underscored the substantial and ongoing contributions of Korean companies to the robust U.S. economy.
FKI Chairman Ryu Jin served as an honorary speaker at the event, representing the Korean business community. His remarks included congratulations to the United States on its upcoming 250th founding anniversary, reinforcing the enduring partnership between the two nations.
Chairman Ryu also hosted a high-profile reception at the stadium, gathering members of Congress and other key U.S. opinion leaders to promote Korea’s dynamic economy and vibrant business community. The event saw participation from over 70 attendees, including senior congressional staff and officials from critical U.S. government agencies such as the Treasury Department, the Department of Energy, and the Department of Defense.
The reception further benefited from the presence of senior executives from major Korean companies with extensive U.S. investments, including industry giants like Samsung Electronics, SK Group, Hyundai Motor Group, LG, and POSCO. These executives also engaged in the CBG Autograph Reception held the day prior, where they directly met with lawmakers from both political parties who participated as players and coaches.
These strategic meetings, as stated by the FKI, were instrumental in reinforcing essential bipartisan private-sector communication channels between Korea and the United States.
“The robust network established with U.S. political and business leaders through these dedicated efforts is crucial for easing institutional and policy-related challenges, ultimately facilitating future investment projects by Korean companies in the U.S.,” affirmed Chung Chul, Head of Research at the FKI and President of the Korea Economic Research Institute.
