CJ Group Chairman Lee Jae-hyun recently visited CJ Olive Young Corp.’s inaugural US store in California, urging dedicated efforts to introduce healthy and stylish lifestyle trends to American consumers. This significant announcement was made by the company on Sunday.
During his visit, Chairman Lee characterized the launch of the prominent health and beauty retailer’s first US outlet as a crucial “first step” in its strategic expansion into the United States, recognized as the world’s largest consumer market. This move underscores the retail and entertainment conglomerate’s ambitious global vision.
Strategically situated within a prime commercial district in Pasadena, the expansive 803-square-meter store will showcase an impressive selection of approximately 5,000 products from nearly 400 diverse beauty and wellness brands, catering to a wide range of consumer needs.
CJ Olive Young has articulated ambitious plans to open five additional brick-and-mortar stores across the US within the next year. This phased expansion will commence on the West Coast before gradually extending its presence to the East Coast, including key markets like New York.
Prior to his visit to Los Angeles, Chairman Lee also toured CJ Cheiljedang’s US operations in Minneapolis, Minnesota, marking his first inspection of the site in seven years. Additionally, he attended the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, an annual PGA Tour event held in Texas, reflecting the group’s broad engagement in the US market.
