Global sensation Katseye clinched the coveted New Artist of the Year award at the 52nd American Music Awards on Monday, marking a significant milestone for the rapidly rising girl group formed through the groundbreaking Hybe x Geffen collaboration.

Upon receiving the prestigious accolade, member Yoonchae expressed her heartfelt gratitude, stating in Korean, “I feel so thankful for being able to celebrate this moment with the members.”

Following Yoonchae, Daniela took the stage to extend her heartfelt thanks to the AMAs, her fellow Katseye members, and their devoted global fanbase, Eyekons.

“Thank you, so, so much to the AMAs. Thank you to our friends, family and to us,” she passionately declared. “We did this together. Thank you, Eyekons!”

Group leader Sophia acknowledged the incredible team supporting Katseye’s musical journey, specifically thanking Hybe Chairman Bang Si-hyuk, known for producing their hit tracks under his alias, Hitman Bang. She also extended profound gratitude to K-pop pioneers BTS for their immense inspiration to the members.

This prestigious award caps off a phenomenal breakout year for Katseye in the competitive US market, propelled by chart-topping songs such as “Gnarly,” “Gabriela,” and “Internet Girl.” Their latest single, “Pinky Up,” released on April 9, has also achieved significant global success, soaring to No. 76 on Billboard’s highly respected Hot 100 chart dated May 23.

During the ceremony, Katseye captivated the audience with a dynamic live performance of their viral hit “Pinky Up,” earning enthusiastic cheers and widespread acclaim from the appreciative crowd.

Remarkably, despite debuting less than two years ago, Katseye has already made a significant impact, charting multiple singles on Billboard’s prestigious Hot 100 and rapidly expanding their dedicated fan base across key regions like North America, Latin America, and Europe.

Beyond their win for New Artist of the Year, Katseye also garnered nominations for Breakthrough Pop Artist and Best Music Video for their critically acclaimed track, “Gnarly,” further cementing their status as a rising force in global music.
