Kolmar Korea, a leading innovator in cosmetic technology, announced the groundbreaking development of a novel anti-aging ingredient, Tocopherol-Oxalate-Tocopherol (TOT). This significant achievement stems from collaborative research with a distinguished team led by Professor Lee Dong-won at Jeonbuk National University.

This pioneering research, underscoring its scientific rigor and impact, was prominently featured as the cover article in the April 2026 issue of ‘Molecules,’ a prestigious SCI-indexed international journal.

TOT stands out as a sophisticated, targeted anti-aging material. It ingeniously merges two potent vitamin E molecules, renowned for their superior antioxidant properties, with a unique peroxalate binding agent. This innovative ingredient is specifically engineered to activate and release its beneficial vitamin E only upon encountering hydrogen peroxide, a primary culprit responsible for accelerated skin aging.

Kolmar Korea emphasizes that this advanced technology seamlessly integrates targeted drug delivery concepts, traditionally a cornerstone of pharmaceutical science, directly into high-performance cosmetics.

Further enhancing its efficacy, the research team also pioneered a DDS (Drug Delivery System)-based smart liposome delivery system. This sophisticated mechanism ensures the TOT ingredient effectively penetrates deeper skin layers. By encapsulating TOT within microscopic liposome capsules, the technology significantly boosts stability and precisely targets the removal of aging-related substances within the dermal layer, promoting comprehensive skin rejuvenation.

Rigorous laboratory tests conducted by Kolmar Korea have demonstrated TOT’s remarkable effectiveness. The ingredient successfully reduced hydrogen peroxide levels by over 40% within just 30 minutes. Moreover, this powerful material significantly suppressed cell damage linked to aging, achieving these impressive results with merely one-tenth of the vitamin E concentration typically needed, showcasing unparalleled efficiency.

Leveraging this revolutionary anti-aging technology, Kolmar Korea is poised to introduce a new premium anti-aging skincare line. This launch is a pivotal component of the company’s ambitious global expansion strategy, aiming to set new standards in the beauty industry.

“This breakthrough truly exemplifies the convergence of our advanced pharmaceutical and cosmetic technologies, specifically engineered to tackle the fundamental causes of aging,” stated a Kolmar Korea official. “As global interest in innovative skincare solutions continues its upward trajectory, we are committed to significantly expanding our portfolio of targeted anti-aging products, reinforcing our leadership in the market.”
