K-pop sensation Illit has achieved a new career-best, with their fourth EP, “Mamihlapinatapai,” debuting at an impressive No. 26 on the prestigious Billboard 200 chart. This remarkable climb signifies the group’s growing global impact, as confirmed by their agency, Belift Lab, on Wednesday.
This latest achievement marks a significant jump for Illit on the main albums chart. Their debut EP, “Super Real Me,” previously ranked No. 93, followed by “I’ll Like You” at No. 94, and their third EP, “bomb,” reaching No. 171. The consistent upward trajectory highlights the K-pop quintet’s increasing popularity.
The focus track from the new EP, “It’s Me,” also garnered significant attention, charting at No. 55 on Billboard Global Excl. US and No. 104 on the Global 200. These strong single performances further propelled Illit to No. 26 on Billboard’s Artist 100 chart, solidifying their presence among top global artists.
Beyond Billboard, the five-track release demonstrated its widespread appeal by entering Oricon’s Daily Album Ranking at No. 1 in Japan. The mini-album also set a new record for the group, selling over 411,000 copies in its first week, underscoring Illit’s strong fan base and commercial success.
Fans can also look forward to more content from the group, as member Wonhee is set to star in her own reality show, “Wonhee is 20,” which will begin airing next month on a prominent Korean streaming service.
