BTS star Jungkook’s solo debut album, “Golden,” has officially surpassed an incredible 7 billion streams on Spotify, Big Hit Music announced on Thursday.
This monumental achievement makes “Golden” the first solo album by an Asian artist to reach this staggering milestone on the global streaming platform. Furthermore, it sets a new record for the fastest studio album from an Asian act overall to hit 7 billion streams, accomplishing this feat in an impressive 904 days.
Beyond its Spotify dominance, Jungkook’s “Golden” proved its commercial power from the outset. The critically acclaimed LP debuted at a remarkable No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and maintained its presence on the chart for 25 consecutive weeks. Demonstrating immediate global appeal, the album sold over 2 million copies in its inaugural week. This 11-track collection further solidified its impact by being recognized among the “Top 20 Albums With the Most Powerful Hit Songs of the 2020s,” a prestigious list compiled by music data authority, Talk of the Charts.
In related news, the group BTS, of which Jungkook is a member, has been actively touring North America since late last month and is scheduled to perform three highly anticipated shows in Mexico City from Thursday to Sunday.
