BMW M, the renowned high-performance division of BMW, continues to assert its dominance in South Korea’s premium automotive market, extending an impressive global sales winning streak for 14 consecutive years. This consistent performance underscores BMW M’s unwavering appeal and market leadership.
In 2025, BMW Korea successfully sold 5,541 BMW M models, cementing its position as the leading brand in the country’s high-performance premium segment for the second consecutive year. This significant momentum carried into 2026, with first-quarter sales robustly increasing by 7 percent year-over-year, reaching 1,334 units.
Globally, BMW M achieved remarkable success in 2025, selling 213,457 vehicles—a 3 percent rise from the previous year. M models now contribute significantly to the BMW Group’s overall performance, accounting for 9.8 percent of total BMW sales worldwide.
The BMW X3 M50, a standout M Performance model, emerged as the brand’s top-selling vehicle globally. Within the dedicated high-performance segment, the agile BMW M2 led sales, complemented by strong demand for the BMW M3 lineup, collectively contributing to total sales of 71,500 high-performance M models.
BMW M’s substantial global expansion was evident across crucial markets, including South Korea, Germany, the UK, Canada, and South Africa, where it consistently maintained its leading position in the competitive high-performance vehicle sector.

Specifically in Korea, the BMW M340i remained the bestseller in 2025, with 613 units sold. It was closely followed by the luxurious M850i xDrive Gran Coupe (572 units), the dynamic M2 (426 units), the commanding X7 M60i (349 units), and the groundbreaking XM (315 units). This diverse demand across performance sedans, coupes, and Sports Activity Vehicles (SAVs) highlights a well-balanced and robust growth across the entire BMW M lineup.
The strong performance continued into the first quarter of 2026, with the M340i once again leading sales with 207 units. Other top performers included the M2 (112 units), the M5 (103 units), the X7 M60i (93 units), the M850i (92 units), and the XM (82 units). This strategic blend of ultra-high-performance models and more accessible, yet potent, performance vehicles has significantly strengthened BMW M’s competitive edge in the domestic market.
