Global phenomenon BTS has achieved a significant milestone, earning a platinum certification in France for their latest album, “Arirang.” This success further extends the K-pop group’s remarkable record-breaking global run.
France’s official music certification body, SNEP (Syndicat National de l’Édition Phonographique), confirmed that BTS’s fifth studio album, “Arirang,” surpassed an impressive 100,000 equivalent sales. These sales, encompassing physical copies, digital downloads, and streams, qualified the album for its prestigious platinum status.
This latest achievement makes “Arirang” the fourth BTS group album to earn platinum status in France. It joins the ranks of their previous acclaimed releases: “Map of the Soul: 7,” “Proof,” and “Love Yourself: Answer,” solidifying BTS’s consistent success in the French market.
Notably, “Arirang” achieved this platinum milestone in just over a month following its release, marking BTS’s fastest certification in France to date. The album had already demonstrated its immense popularity by earning a gold certification within a mere six days, showcasing its incredibly strong early performance and fan demand.
Beyond their European triumphs, BTS continues to expand its formidable presence in Japan. The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) announced that the group’s beloved 2018 track, “Let Go,” from their Japanese album “Face Yourself,” soared past 100 million streams in March 2026. This impressive achievement secured a platinum certification in the streaming category for the song. With this addition, BTS now boasts a remarkable total of 17 platinum certifications in Japan, cementing their position as the most certified K-pop artists in the country.
The album “Arirang” itself has also achieved monumental success in the Japanese market. It quickly surpassed 750,000 shipments, earning a prestigious triple platinum certification within an astonishing 11 days of its release.
This incredible global momentum for BTS is further amplified by their ongoing world tour. This monumental tour is projected to span 34 cities and feature an unprecedented 85 shows, establishing it as the largest tour ever undertaken by a Korean artist.
Just recently, BTS commenced the highly anticipated North American leg of their “Arirang” world tour. Kicking off at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, both initial concert dates sold out rapidly in advance, underscoring intense fan excitement. The group is scheduled to perform a total of 10 shows across key locations including El Paso, Stanford, and Las Vegas in the U.S., as well as Mexico City in Mexico, throughout May. Following this extensive North American journey, BTS will return for performances in Busan, South Korea, in June.
