K-pop sensation Taeyong, a prominent member of the popular boy group NCT, is gearing up to release his highly anticipated first full-length solo album, titled “Wyld,” on May 18.
According to his agency SM Entertainment, the upcoming “Wyld” album will feature a diverse collection of 10 tracks, spearheaded by its compelling title track.
This solo project holds profound significance for Taeyong, as he deeply immersed himself in its creation. He not only penned the lyrics for every song but also contributed to the composition of nine tracks, showcasing his extensive artistic involvement in the album’s overall production.
SM Entertainment further elaborated that this new Taeyong album is “poised to unveil a more introspective and refined artistic identity, underscoring Taeyong’s significant evolution and growth as a multifaceted musician.”
This eagerly awaited release marks Taeyong’s first album since he successfully concluded his four-month “TY Track – Remastered” concert series. It also follows his discharge from military service in December, during which he had already hinted at his ambitious solo comeback plans for 2026, alongside his ongoing NCT activities.
Fans worldwide will be able to access the “Wyld” album across all major global streaming platforms upon its release at 6 p.m. KST on May 18. For collectors and dedicated fans, the physical album will also be available for purchase, with preorders commencing Monday through various online and offline retailers.
As a key member of NCT subunit NCT 127, Taeyong has consistently cultivated a distinct and unique solo sound through his acclaimed previous releases. These include his impactful first EP “Shalala,” the dynamic second EP “Tap,” and his recent April single “Rock Solid,” which famously featured American rapper Anderson .Paak, solidifying his unique musical footprint in the K-pop scene.
