Samsung SDS and Google Cloud have officially announced a significant strategic partnership aimed at revolutionizing artificial intelligence (AI), robust cloud services, and advanced cybersecurity solutions, particularly for highly regulated industries. This landmark agreement, unveiled at Google Cloud Next 2026 in Las Vegas, signifies a major step towards delivering secure and innovative digital transformations.

This powerful collaboration will see Samsung SDS and Google Cloud drive joint development in cutting-edge generative AI and comprehensive cloud services. Their focus includes cultivating new business opportunities within security-sensitive sectors, specifically targeting demanding environments like public institutions and the financial services industry.

To bolster its standing in high-security markets, Samsung SDS intends to strategically leverage Google Distributed Cloud. This fully managed, secure platform, meticulously designed for modern data centers and edge environments, is engineered to satisfy stringent enterprise requirements. Key features include robust regulatory compliance, essential local data processing capabilities, superior system resilience, and ultralow latency performance – all critical for sensitive operations.

Furthermore, Samsung SDS will deploy integrated agentic AI solutions powered by Gemini Enterprise, delivered via its proprietary cloud platform. By synergistically combining advanced Google Cloud technologies with its formidable in-house capabilities, Samsung SDS is strategically positioned to significantly expand its managed service provider (MSP) business and effectively capture emerging enterprise demand for AI-driven solutions.

Regarding cybersecurity, this strategic partnership will integrate Wiz, Google Cloud’s leading cloud security solution, directly with Samsung SDS’ comprehensive managed services. This integration is set to significantly enhance threat detection capabilities and fortify proactive risk response mechanisms for clients in high-stakes environments.

“This critical partnership represents a significant leap forward in driving profound innovation across regulated industries,” affirmed Ruth Sun, Managing Director for Google Cloud Korea.

“Through this powerful collaboration, we are committed to supporting comprehensive AI transformation initiatives and constructing highly secure AI and cloud environments meticulously tailored to the specific needs of highly regulated sectors,” stated Lee Ho-jun, Executive Vice President and Head of the Cloud Service Division at Samsung SDS.
