Samsung Electronics Co. has announced a significant expansion of its SmartThings connectivity platform, now fully supporting smart home products from the renowned Swedish furniture giant IKEA. This integration marks a pivotal step in making smart home technology more accessible and seamlessly connected for consumers worldwide.

A total of 25 new IKEA smart products, including the popular Scroll Wheel remote, essential smart lights, versatile smart plugs, and advanced air quality sensors, are now fully compatible with the universal Matter smart home connectivity standard. This broad compatibility was confirmed by Samsung in a recent Newsroom post, highlighting the growing ecosystem of connected devices.

The Matter standard is an innovative, open-source, and unified smart home protocol designed to ensure seamless interoperability across devices from diverse manufacturers. Leading tech companies such as Apple, Google, and Samsung are key proponents, fostering an integrated smart home experience for users globally.

This partnership empowers users to effortlessly connect IKEA smart products directly to the SmartThings platform, requiring no additional complex setup. Once connected, these products can be seamlessly integrated with existing Samsung home appliances, creating a cohesive and intuitive smart living environment.

Samsung, the pioneering Korean tech giant, has actively collaborated with IKEA to significantly enhance and strengthen connection stability across the SmartThings platform, ensuring a reliable and consistent user experience for all integrated devices.
