EuBiologics announced a significant new partnership with LG Chem, aiming to profoundly strengthen its quality systems and advance vaccine manufacturing capabilities. This strategic collaboration is crucial as EuBiologics expands its global reach and enhances its position in the biopharmaceutical sector.
Formalized by a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), this collaboration will see EuBiologics integrate advanced Quality by Design (QbD) principles across its entire spectrum of research, development, and manufacturing operations. Leveraging LG Chem’s extensive expertise in global regulatory compliance, EuBiologics is set to significantly enhance its Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) capabilities, meeting stringent international standards.
A primary focus of this initiative is to elevate the production quality of clinical trial materials for LG Chem’s acellular pertussis vaccine, a critical project currently being managed by EuBiologics.
This partnership underscores EuBiologics’ strategic shift from its traditional public health vaccine portfolio towards high-value vaccines and penetration into advanced global markets. This expansion necessitates world-class development and manufacturing capabilities fully compliant with rigorous international regulatory standards.
The collaboration will meticulously address key Quality by Design (QbD) components, including robust process design, sophisticated experiment design, comprehensive quality risk management, and precise design space establishment. A strong emphasis will be placed on practical implementation, utilizing real-world process data and invaluable feedback to construct a resilient system that facilitates proactive quality design and stringent management across all stages, from early development to final production.
Commenting on the strategic alliance, Jung Chul-ho, head of Bio CMC R&D at LG Chem, stated, “Through this agreement, we will further strengthen our partnership and expand synergies across vaccine development and manufacturing.”
