Leading engineering firm Otak, the US subsidiary of Hanmi Global, has announced securing a significant Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with the National Park Service, operating under the US Department of the Interior.
This Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract represents a key US federal procurement model, enabling task orders to be issued on an as-needed basis, providing flexibility without a fixed project scope.
Spanning from March 2026 to February 2031, the substantial five-year contract boasts an approximate total value of $400 million. Otak will collaborate alongside other prominent industry leaders, including AECOM and Jacobs, to deliver essential projects throughout this period.
The comprehensive program focuses on critical design and engineering services aimed at upgrading and maintaining the aging infrastructure within numerous US national parks.
Under the terms of this pivotal contract, Otak’s responsibilities will encompass diverse projects, including vital equipment replacement, renovation of residential facilities, and crucial repairs to roads and bridges across the national park system. Their extensive expertise will cover architectural design, comprehensive engineering services, detailed mapping, and precise cost estimation.
Hanmi Global highlighted that this significant contract is a testament to its long-term localization strategy, initiated after the successful acquisition of Otak in 2011. By effectively leveraging local talent and established networks, Otak has cultivated and maintained a robust partnership with the National Park Service for nearly two decades.
Demonstrating its expanding global footprint, Hanmi Global’s international operations contributed significantly to its 2025 revenue. International projects accounted for 261.3 billion won ($176 million), representing 58 percent of the total 448.8 billion won revenue. Notably, the US market alone was a major contributor, generating 127.7 billion won, which is nearly half of its overseas sales.
A Hanmi Global official emphasized, “This contract clearly underscores our enduring partnership with the US federal government. We are fully committed to further solidifying our robust presence in the vital US public infrastructure market, with Otak leading these crucial initiatives.”
