Samsung Bioepis Launches Company-wide AI Training
(Samsung Bioepis)

Samsung Bioepis has officially launched a comprehensive companywide artificial intelligence (AI) training program, strategically designed to cultivate specialized AI expertise vital for the cutting-edge biopharmaceutical industry.

This pioneering initiative represents Samsung Bioepis’ inaugural organization-wide endeavor to embed AI as a foundational core capability, significantly enhancing overall operational efficiency and accelerating innovation across all departments.

To facilitate this ambitious program, Samsung Bioepis has established a dedicated AI training center, aptly named the “AI Academy,” located at its corporate headquarters in Songdo, Incheon.

The robust curriculum is structured for approximately 1,000 employees, each completing a minimum of seven hours of intensive training. This blends essential theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on application. Key areas of focus include the effective utilization of generative AI tools, development of job-specific AI models, and advanced workflow automation techniques.

Furthering its commitment to scaling AI capabilities, Samsung Bioepis plans to form a specialized task force. Led by its expert AI team, this unit will be responsible for developing and deploying customized AI agents tailored to the unique requirements of each corporate division.

Beyond internal training, Samsung Bioepis is actively expanding its broader AI and digital innovation strategies. This encompasses leveraging sophisticated digital twin technology to significantly accelerate drug development pipelines, building secure and robust in-house AI infrastructure, and forging strategic collaborations with external partners to identify promising AI-driven drug candidates.

“As artificial intelligence increasingly becomes a critical driver for global competitiveness within the biopharma sector, we are dedicated to continuously strengthening our capabilities. This commitment will fundamentally enhance Samsung Bioepis’ core competitive edge in the market,” stated Kang Dae-sung, Head of the People Team.
