CJ Olive Young, a leading force in the K-beauty retail sector, is poised for a significant expansion into the US market. Next month will see the launch of its dedicated US e-commerce platform, coinciding with the grand opening of its inaugural American brick-and-mortar store in California, according to recent industry insights.
This new US e-commerce platform will significantly enhance the shopping experience for American consumers by utilizing local inventory. This strategic approach aims to dramatically improve delivery speeds and reduce shipping costs, differentiating it from Olive Young’s established global platform, which currently serves 150 countries through direct shipments from South Korea.
Crucial to this ambitious US operation is the establishment of Olive Young’s first North American logistics hub. Located in Bloomington, California, this extensive 3,600-square-meter facility will be instrumental in managing customs clearance, optimizing inventory, and handling fulfillment processes for both the upcoming physical store locations and the new online platform.
Olive Young intends to replicate its highly successful omnichannel retail model within the US market. This strategy allows customers to initially discover popular K-beauty products in physical stores and then conveniently repurchase them online. A company official stated, “Our goal is to significantly enhance US consumers’ access to the full range of Olive Young and K-beauty offerings through a robust online platform featuring localized delivery and tailored promotions.”
This strategic US expansion is underpinned by Olive Young’s remarkable financial performance. In 2025, the company reported an impressive revenue of 5.83 trillion won ($3.9 billion), marking a substantial 21.8 percent increase year-over-year. Operating profit also surged by 22.5 percent, reaching 744.7 billion won. This robust growth trajectory has seen Olive Young surpass 2 trillion won in revenue in 2021, 3 trillion won in 2023, and 4 trillion won in 2024, demonstrating strong momentum.
The highly anticipated Pasadena store, representing the first in a series of planned California locations for Olive Young, is scheduled to open its doors in May. This flagship store will feature popular and fast-growing Korean beauty brands such as APR and d’Alba Global, further enriching the K-beauty landscape in the US, as confirmed by an independent source.
