K-pop idol Ten, a prominent member of NCT and WayV, has officially concluded his exclusive contract with SM Entertainment as of Monday, the agency confirmed. This significant development marks a new chapter for the popular Thai artist.
SM Entertainment issued a statement detailing the decision: “After in-depth discussions with Ten regarding his future activities, we have agreed to conclude his exclusive contract as of April 8.” The agency further assured fans that “We will continue to coordinate so that Ten can participate in WayV and NCT group activities in the future,” indicating a flexible arrangement for his ongoing involvement with the successful K-pop groups.
This arrangement for Ten’s future participation in NCT and WayV activities is expected to be managed on a case-by-case basis through mutual agreements between all relevant parties. Such flexible models have been adopted for other renowned K-pop artists, including Taemin of SHINee and D.O. of EXO, allowing them to pursue diverse careers while maintaining ties with their respective groups.
This development follows the recent departure of Mark, who also chose not to renew his contract with SM Entertainment and concluded all activities with NCT.
