Pacific Music Group (PMG) Taps Veteran K-Pop Producer Samuel Ku to Head Korea Office
Global R&B icon Ne-Yo’s Pacific Music Group (PMG) is expanding its reach into the K-pop scene. What kind of exciting new Korean artists will emerge from this collaboration with veteran K-pop producer Samuel Ku?
Pacific Music Group announced Wednesday the appointment of Samuel Ku as the head of its newly established Korean branch, effective March. Ku will spearhead the company’s efforts in discovering and developing K-pop talent and supporting their expansion within the Korean music market.
“The launch of PMG Korea marks a pivotal starting point in our global strategy,” Ku stated. “With a clear artistic vision, we aim to organically connect markets across Asia and beyond, fostering a vibrant and interconnected music ecosystem.”
“Our focus will be on connecting artists with global audiences while achieving sustainable growth through meaningful partnerships that transcend culture, community, and borders,” he added, emphasizing PMG Korea’s commitment to building bridges and fostering international collaborations.
Samuel Ku brings over 15 years of experience as a Korean American producer and songwriter, having collaborated with renowned artists such as GOT7, f(x), and Olivia Marsh, sister of former NewJeans member Danielle. He also previously served as executive producer for MPLIFY, the English-language label launched by Warner Music Korea in September 2024.
PMG plans to leverage Ku’s extensive industry expertise and network to launch diverse labels spanning pop, R&B, hip-hop, and electronic music. The company aims to produce content that authentically reflects Korea’s unique musical identity and resonates with global audiences.
Pacific Music Group was founded in November by Ne-Yo, Sonu Nigam, and Jonathan Serbin with the primary goal of discovering and developing Asian artists for the international stage.
