Seventeen New Subunit Launch Reported

Exciting news for Carats! Seventeen’s Vernon and The8 are teaming up to form a brand new duo subunit and are set to release an album in June, according to reports! This marks a thrilling expansion for the group and a unique collaboration between two talented members.

Vernon, a key rapper in the 13-member powerhouse, has been instrumental in songwriting for Seventeen since their debut. His contributions to the group’s discography are well-known and appreciated. Furthermore, along with Woozi, Vernon became a member of The Recording Academy last year, granting them voting rights for the prestigious 2026 Grammy Awards.

The8, known for his captivating performances, previously released his first solo EP, “Stardust,” in China back in 2024. Interestingly, Vernon played a part in that project, co-writing the lyrics and melodies for the lead track, “Orbit,” showcasing their collaborative spirit even before this official subunit announcement.
