Samsung Electronics has announced that pre-orders for the highly anticipated Galaxy S26 smartphone series have shattered records in South Korea, reaching an impressive 1.35 million units within a seven-day period. This marks the highest pre-order volume ever achieved for a Galaxy S series device in the country.
The Galaxy S26 series surpassed the previous record held by the Galaxy S25 lineup, which garnered 1.3 million pre-orders over an 11-day pre-sale period. The overwhelming demand underscores the continued popularity and excitement surrounding Samsung’s flagship smartphones.
The premium Galaxy S26 Ultra model dominated pre-orders, accounting for approximately 70% of total sales. This trend reflects a strong consumer preference for the high-end features and capabilities offered by the Ultra variant. Samsung confirmed that the S26 Ultra also achieved the highest pre-order volume among all Ultra versions released to date.
Color preferences varied across the different Galaxy S26 models. White and black emerged as the most sought-after colors for both the Ultra and the standard Galaxy S26, while black and cobalt violet were the top choices for the Galaxy S26 Plus.
Specifically, cobalt violet and black were the preferred colors for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, black proved most popular for the Plus model, and white was the leading choice for the base Galaxy S26.
Samsung also revealed that over 30% of customers who pre-ordered the Galaxy S26 series through Samsung.com opted to join the New Galaxy AI Subscription Club, highlighting the growing interest in the advanced AI features integrated into the new devices.
The global rollout of the Galaxy S26 series is scheduled to commence on March 11th, starting with key markets including Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, and India. Subsequent launches are planned in approximately 120 countries worldwide, bringing the latest Samsung innovations to a global audience.
