Seventeen’s S.Coups and Mingyu, as a subunit, have achieved the No. 1 spot on Oricon’s Daily Album Ranking, according to their agency Pledis Entertainment. This marks a significant achievement for the K-pop duo.
Their first EP, “Hype Vibes,” returned to the top of the chart after five months, potentially boosted by the popularity of their current tour, “Double Up — Live Party.” This resurgence showcases the enduring appeal of their music.
The mini-album, released in September of last year, initially topped the daily chart and held the No. 1 position for three days. It then secured the top spot on Oricon’s Weekly and Weekly Combined Rankings, marking a successful debut. “Hype Vibes,” featuring six tracks, sold over 880,000 copies in its first week, setting a new record for a K-pop subunit. This impressive sales figure highlights their immense popularity.
S.Coups and Mingyu are scheduled to perform live throughout this month in Singapore, Bangkok, and Bulacan (Philippines) as part of Seventeen’s “New_” tour, as well as in Kaohsiung (Taiwan). Fans eagerly anticipate these performances.
