2NE1’s Park Bom Controversy: Social Media Post Sparks Debate, Acquaintance Disputes Claims
Park Bom, former member of the iconic K-pop group 2NE1, ignited a social media firestorm with a handwritten letter alleging she was a scapegoat in a fellow member’s alleged drug scandal. The post, shared on Tuesday, quickly gained traction, but a close associate has since refuted the story, suggesting the singer’s emotional state may be unstable.
In her statement, Park Bom, who has spoken about suffering from attention deficit disorder, vehemently denied illegal drug use. She claimed she was falsely portrayed as a “drug addict” to divert attention from alleged issues involving bandmate Sandara Park.
The controversy also revisited Park Bom’s past struggles involving the prescription medication Adderall. She mentioned that at the time of the 2010 investigation, South Korea lacked a clear legal framework regulating the drug.
“Strangely, laws were created after Park Bom,” she stated, adding a warning to YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun-suk, The Black Label founder Teddy, and 2NE1 member CL, urging them not to report any alleged misuse of medication. She maintains that she has never abused any substance.

The 2010 investigation centered around Park Bom importing Adderall from the United States without proper customs declaration. Adderall is classified in Korea as a regulated substance containing amphetamine.
Ultimately, she received a suspension of indictment after providing medical records and prescriptions proving the medication was prescribed for legitimate treatment and not for recreational abuse.
These recent allegations arise as Park Bom remains on an indefinite hiatus, reportedly due to mental health concerns. She has previously faced criticism for making unsubstantiated claims about other celebrities.
In October, Park Bom posted another accusatory message, this time targeting YG founder Yang Hyun-suk, claiming she hadn’t received earnings from 2NE1’s activities and sharing what she described as a legal complaint. D-Nation Entertainment swiftly issued a statement denying these claims, clarifying that no such complaint had been filed.
The agency also stated that Park Bom would suspend activities to prioritize treatment and recovery. This latest incident raises further questions about her well-being and future in the entertainment industry. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story.
