SK On announced its participation in InterBattery 2026, South Korea’s premier battery exhibition, scheduled for March 11-13 at Coex in Seoul. The company will showcase its cutting-edge technologies, including advancements in energy storage systems (ESS), robotics, and innovative cell designs.
The SK On booth will be structured into three distinct zones: Leading Tech, Future Tech, and Core Tech. These zones will emphasize the company’s strategic expansion beyond electric vehicle (EV) batteries into a wider spectrum of energy solutions.
Visitors to the Leading Tech zone can experience an immersive R&D studio, providing insights into SK On’s battery design and manufacturing processes. The Future Tech zone will feature liquid immersion cooling technology, a collaborative development with SK Enmove, designed to optimize thermal management and enhance battery safety. The Core Tech zone will highlight Cell-to-Pack (CTP) solutions, ESS DC blocks, and high energy-density lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells.
With ESS emerging as a significant growth driver, SK On will present a high energy-density LFP pouch battery tailored for large-scale energy storage, addressing the increasing global demand for high-capacity systems.
The company will also showcase ESS DC blocks equipped with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), a preventive diagnostic system for real-time battery health monitoring, designed to improve overall safety.
Robotics applications will also be a focal point, featuring a Hyundai Wia autonomous mobile robot (AMR) powered by SK On’s high-nickel ternary batteries. These batteries are currently utilized for logistics automation in industrial settings such as Hyundai Motor Group’s Metaplant America.
“The technologies presented at InterBattery 2026 signify SK On’s commitment to becoming a comprehensive battery solutions provider,” stated an SK On official, highlighting the company’s growth strategy in the ESS and robotics markets.
