BTS J-Hope donates $138,000 to Children’s Hospital, and $70,000 to students in Gwangju.
BTS member J-Hope has generously donated 200 million won (approximately $138,000 USD) to the children’s hospital at Seoul Asan Hospital in celebration of his birthday, the hospital announced on Wednesday. J-Hope was born on February 18, 1994.
“I continue to donate as a way to give back to ARMY, who always give me so much support,” J-Hope stated. “I’m grateful to make another meaningful contribution on my birthday this year, just as I did last year. I sincerely hope children can overcome their pain and dream bright dreams.”
The K-pop superstar has also donated 100 million won (approximately $70,000 USD) to ChildFund Korea, the child welfare organization announced on the same day.
The donation will provide scholarships to students at J-Hope’s alma mater, Gwangju International High School, and to students at Jeonnam Girls’ Commercial High School, both located in the same region, according to the organization.
This latest contribution elevates J-Hope to the 14th member of the Green Noble Trinity Club, an exclusive group of high-value donors at ChildFund Korea, recognizing contributors whose cumulative donations exceed 1 billion won.
J-Hope’s philanthropic efforts with ChildFund Korea began in 2018. He has supported vital medical treatment for children with serious illnesses and provided crucial assistance to vulnerable families impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, amongst other important causes.
