K-pop sensation Big Bang kicks off their highly anticipated world tour countdown.
On the 24th, YG Entertainment unveiled an exciting Big Bang world tour teaser poster across their official social media channels.
While the tour’s official title and detailed schedules remain under wraps, Big Bang recently captivated audiences at the ‘2026 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival’ in the United States on April 12th and 19th (local time). Their electrifying Coachella performances showcased a remarkable 20-year musical legacy, featuring a dynamic setlist of mega-hit group songs and impressive individual member solo stages, sending fans into a frenzy.
Major international media outlets extensively covered Big Bang’s powerful return. Billboard lauded their “perfect recall of audiences to the golden age of K-pop,” while Forbes crowned them “Kings of K-pop,” celebrating their comeback. The Los Angeles Times vividly described the electrifying atmosphere, noting how Big Bang “drew the audience in with sensual and exciting party music,” reaffirming their enduring influence and stage presence.
This upcoming tour holds immense significance for K-pop fans, marking Big Bang’s first major concert series in nine years since their ‘LAST DANCE’ tour in 2017. YG Entertainment has confirmed early preparations are well underway, with a representative stating, “All YG staff are committed to delivering a flawless and unforgettable performance for our fans.”
Adding to the buzz, Big Bang recently launched new official social media accounts to celebrate their 20th debut anniversary. This move, however, sparked debate as the accounts followed not only current members G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung but also T.O.P, who previously departed the group following a past controversy.
To recap, T.O.P faced legal issues in 2016, being indicted for marijuana use and receiving a 10-month prison sentence, suspended for two years. Following this, T.O.P announced his departure from Big Bang and his intention to retire from the entertainment industry via his personal social media. Nevertheless, he has since made a highly anticipated return to showbiz, featuring in Netflix’s acclaimed original series ‘Squid Game’ Season 2, set for release in December 2024.
