BLACKPINK member and actress Jisoo quietly departed, her face covered by a hat and mask, just two days after her agency addressed the controversy involving her older brother.

Jisoo departed for Paris via Incheon International Airport on the 22nd for an overseas schedule. Originally, Jisoo was expected to showcase airport fashion and meet with reporters at this departure event.

However, an event, initially planned for promotion by a fashion marketing company, was completely canceled on the 21st, just one day before her scheduled departure. The marketing company cited “unavoidable internal circumstances” as the reason. This cancellation is widely interpreted as a ripple effect of the recent controversy surrounding Jisoo’s older brother. There are suggestions that Jisoo felt a significant burden due to the ongoing issue.

On this day, Jisoo appeared at the airport in a comfortable outfit, featuring stripes, a t-shirt, and jeans, with her face largely concealed by a hat and mask. She briefly waved to the fans gathered at the scene.

The controversy ignited after recent reports stated that ‘Mr. A,’ a family member of a famous girl group, was arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a female BJ. Speculation immediately surged that Mr. A was Jisoo’s older brother. The situation escalated further when ‘Ms. B,’ who identified herself as Mr. A’s wife, claimed to be a victim of domestic violence via social media, amplifying the public outcry.

In response to these allegations, Jisoo’s agency, BLISSOO Entertainment, through lawyer Eun Hyun-ho of Kim & Chang Law Firm on the 20th, issued a statement. “The current issues being raised are entirely unrelated to the artist and BLISSOO,” the agency clarified, adding, “Many of the circulating online contents are unconfirmed speculations or clearly false information.”

Furthermore, regarding suspicions that her older brother serves as the CEO of BLISSOO, the agency clarified, “BLISSOO has been managed completely independently, without any involvement from family members. We are not providing any financial or legal support to the individual in question, nor do we plan to do so in the future.”

The agency also stated its firm intention for legal action, announcing, “We plan to take strong action against those who create and spread malicious or repetitive posts, without any leniency or settlement.” This signals a zero-tolerance approach to defamation.

However, the controversy continues to ripple. Following BLISSOO’s clarification, it was revealed that Jisoo’s brother’s name was belatedly removed from the credits of the Netflix drama ‘Monthly Boyfriend,’ in which Jisoo starred. Unlike other cast members, the revised credits now only list Jisoo’s agency, BLISSOO Entertainment.

In connection with this, Netflix told Star News on the 21st, “Shortly after the work’s release in early March, we confirmed an error in the actor management notation in the credits due to a production company’s mistake, and we immediately took corrective action.”
