K-pop sensation Hearts2Hearts has made a vibrant comeback with their highly anticipated second EP, also titled “Lemon Tang.” This release follows the immense success of their debut track, “Rude!,” which dominated domestic music charts, secured five wins on TV music shows, and became their first music video to rapidly surpass 100 million views after its February launch.
“It truly still feels surreal to witness our songs climbing high on the charts, and we are incredibly grateful for the support,” expressed member Ye-on during a recent media showcase in Seoul, promoting the new album. “We believe our signature positive energy and the relatable messages in our music have deeply resonated with listeners, uplifting their spirits.”
Since their debut in February 2025, Hearts2Hearts has rapidly gained significant traction both in South Korea and internationally. Their captivating tracks, including “Focus,” “Style,” and “The Chase,” have also garnered widespread attention, establishing them as a rising force in the K-pop scene.
Member Ian recounted experiencing the group’s growing global reach firsthand during a successful North American showcase tour in March, where fans passionately sang along to “Rude!”
“We were so thankful for that overwhelming reception, and it truly motivated us to work even harder for our fans worldwide,” she shared.
The new “Lemon Tang” EP impressively includes both the new title track “Lemon Tang” and their chart-topping hit “Rude!.” The album beautifully encapsulates the K-pop group’s “bright and free-spirited” energy, weaving themes of togetherness throughout its tracks.
The title track, “Lemon Tang,” ingeniously combines the tartness of a lemon with “tang,” a word evoking a fizzy, delightful taste and scent. According to Hearts2Hearts, the song’s core message conveys how an individual might feel sharp or sour when alone, but connecting with others transforms that into the sweet and sour charm encapsulated by “Lemon Tang.”
“The moment we heard the demo, it immediately felt like a perfect summer song, and all the members absolutely loved it,” member Yuha explained. “We collectively felt it was the ideal track to express our vibrant energy, which is why we proudly selected it as our lead single for this comeback.”
With the release of “Lemon Tang,” Hearts2Hearts aspires to join the illustrious lineage of successful summer songs from SM Entertainment, a renowned agency home to iconic female acts such as Girls’ Generation, f(x), and Red Velvet.
“We would be incredibly honored if ‘Lemon Tang’ could carry on that celebrated legacy of SM summer hits,” member Jiwoo commented, emphasizing that the song particularly highlights a profound sense of “being together.”
Notably, Hearts2Hearts’ comeback coincides with labelmate aespa’s recent return with their own lemon-themed track, “Lemonade.”
When asked about the shared “lemon” subject, Jiwoo cheerfully shared that the senior act had offered encouraging words when they met for a short-form dance challenge. aespa members remarked on the fascinating coincidence of returning with a similar theme and extended their wishes for mutual success.
With a lighthearted laugh, Jiwoo clarified the subtle difference between the two tracks, explaining that while aespa’s “Lemonade” represents a “cool and thrilling sourness,” Hearts2Hearts’ “Lemon Tang” offers a “fresh and sweet” charm.
Looking forward, the K-pop girl group expressed their strong hope to build upon the incredible momentum generated by “Rude!” with their latest release, “Lemon Tang.”
“If ‘Rude!’ helped us gain significant attention in the first half of the year, we truly hope to be loved even more in the second half with ‘Lemon Tang’,” member Carmen confidently stated. “Our goal is to make this entire year truly the year of Hearts2Hearts.”
