K-pop sensation Seventeen, through member Joshua, will participate in UNESCO’s global “Going Together — For Youth Creativity & Well-Being” initiative on June 25. This significant appearance, part of a program jointly launched by Seventeen and UNESCO, aims to promote youth empowerment worldwide, as confirmed by Pledis Entertainment.
Joshua, the Korean-American member of Seventeen, will deliver a powerful message of support to young people globally during the event. UNESCO Director-General Khaled El-Enany is also slated to attend. Fans and supporters worldwide can watch the event live, as it will be livestreamed on UNESCO’s official YouTube channel, making it accessible to a global audience.
Seventeen’s commitment to youth development is long-standing. Appointed as a UNESCO youth goodwill ambassador in 2024, the group generously donated US$1 million to establish a crucial global youth fund. This fund actively supports various projects designed to bolster youth confidence and resilience across different domains, including music, arts, and sports. Furthermore, it focuses on fostering creative youth communities and promoting vital mental health awareness among young individuals.
Their dedication extends beyond this, as the group previously contributed proceeds from a special charity auction last year, held to commemorate International Youth Day, further underscoring their commitment to global youth initiatives.
