K-pop sensation Cortis has made a remarkable debut on the prestigious Billboard 200 chart, with their second EP, “GreenGreen,” landing at an impressive No. 3. This marks the five-member group’s first top-10 entry on the main U.S. albums chart.
According to Billboard’s latest chart preview, Cortis’s EP secured 87,000 album-equivalent units in the recent tracking week. This total includes a significant 81,500 in pure album sales, showcasing strong fan engagement and demand for the K-pop boy group’s new release.
Prior to this success, Cortis had previously entered the Billboard 200 with “Color Outside the Lines,” which peaked at No. 15 last year, demonstrating their consistent growth in the American music market.
The Billboard 200 chart systematically ranks the week’s most popular albums across the United States. Its methodology accounts for equivalent album units, which encompass physical and digital album sales, along with streaming and digital track downloads that are converted into album sales figures.
BigHit Music, Cortis’s agency, highlighted the group’s groundbreaking achievements. They stated that Cortis has become the fastest K-pop group, excluding project acts, to reach the top three positions on the Billboard 200, accomplishing this milestone just nine months after their debut. Furthermore, Cortis holds the distinction of being the only boy band formed in the past five years to break into the coveted Billboard 200 top three, solidifying their status as a rapidly rising force in the global music scene.
