I.O.I Comeback: 9-Year Hiatus Ends Next Month

K-pop sensation I.O.I is set to make their highly anticipated comeback with the release of their third EP, “I.O.I: Loop,” on May 19. Swing Entertainment confirmed the exciting news, detailing an array of promotional activities to follow the album’s launch.

Fans can mark their calendars for May 4, as a special pre-release track from “I.O.I: Loop” will be unveiled. The complete promotional schedule was shared across Swing Entertainment’s official social media accounts, building excitement for the group’s return.

Adding to the comeback excitement, I.O.I will also host a special three-day concert series. These highly anticipated performances will take place at the iconic Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul, commencing on May 29, celebrating their long-awaited return to the stage.

It has been confirmed that nine of I.O.I’s eleven original members will participate in the upcoming album’s promotional activities. Kang Mi-na and Zhou Jieqiong will regrettably sit out of this comeback due to prior individual schedules, but the remaining members are ready to deliver unforgettable performances.

I.O.I originally formed through Mnet’s highly popular 2016 audition program, “Produce 101,” making their official debut in May of the same year. The group swiftly rose to national prominence, captivating fans with chart-topping hits like “Very Very Very” and “Downpour.” Their initial run concluded in January 2017 following a heartfelt final standalone concert, leaving fans eager for their reunion.
