Kiaf is set to redefine its artistic direction with the appointment of Jung Ku-ho as its first-ever external Creative Director. In this pivotal role, Jung will oversee Kiaf’s branding, spatial design, and the curation of its special exhibitions, marking a significant evolution for the renowned art fair.
Jung Ku-ho brings a diverse and distinguished career to Kiaf. He began his professional journey as a fashion designer, subsequently expanding his expertise into acclaimed stage and costume design for prominent state-run ballet, performance, craft, and opera institutions. His extensive experience eventually led him to assume the role of overall creative director for various significant projects.
Among his most notable achievements, Jung directed the Seoul Metropolitan Dance Theatre’s critically acclaimed production, “One Dance.” This groundbreaking work garnered international recognition, earning the prestigious New York Dance and Performance Awards, widely known as The Bessies, earlier in January.
According to Kiaf, Jung is expected to profoundly reimagine the visitor experience, strategically positioning the art fair at the forefront of emerging trends within the dynamic global art fair landscape.
“I will strive to help Kiaf find the right balance between technology and art, and grow into a meaningful art trading platform on the global art market,” Jung stated in a press release, outlining his ambitious vision for the future of Kiaf.
