K-pop powerhouse BTS’s fifth studio album, “Arirang,” continued its strong performance on the Billboard 200, securing a spot behind country artists Ella Langley’s “Dandelion” and Morgan Wallen’s “I’m the Problem,” Billboard announced in its latest chart preview on Sunday (U.S. time).
During the most recent tracking period, the critically acclaimed album “Arirang” garnered 78,000 equivalent album units. This figure represents a 37 percent adjustment from its performance in the preceding week.
The Billboard 200 chart is the definitive ranking of the most popular albums in the United States each week. Rankings are determined by equivalent album units, which encompass a comprehensive measure of consumption including traditional album sales (physical and digital), track equivalent albums (TEA) from individual digital song sales, and streaming equivalent albums (SEA) from on-demand audio and video streams.
“Arirang” previously made significant K-pop history by becoming the first album from a South Korean act to dominate the No. 1 position on the Billboard 200 for an impressive three consecutive weeks.
The 14-track album, prominently featuring the hit lead single “Swim,” marks a highly anticipated return for the global sensation BTS. This release is their first new music project following a four-year hiatus, during which members fulfilled their mandatory military service commitments.
