BTS achieves a monumental double victory as “Swim” secures the #1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, according to Billboard’s preview. This triumph coincides with their album’s debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart. This dual achievement marks their first simultaneous #1 rankings on both charts in six years, since their “Be” album in 2020.
In a statement released through BigHit Music, the K-pop sensation expressed that the success of their fifth studio album, launched after a three-year and nine-month hiatus, is “a great honor” attributed to their dedicated fanbase.
“We deeply thank ARMY, who have always shown us unwavering love and support, as well as everyone who listened to our music and shared their hearts with us,” the group stated, acknowledging their global fandom.
The group further shared that they diligently worked to capture “universal emotions” relatable to a wide audience while developing the new album.
Describing “Swim” as “a song that encourages perseverance through difficulty,” they expressed hope that the track “offered a bit of courage and comfort beyond borders” to its listeners.
“Thank you for the constant faith and support, and we will continue to make music with sincerity,” the group conveyed.
BTS released “Arirang” earlier this month, representing their first group project since 2022, following the members’ commencement of mandatory military service in South Korea.
