Following the conclusion of BTS’ highly anticipated concert at Gwanghwamun Square, Hybe Corporation released a statement on its website, expressing sincere gratitude for the opportunity to utilize the iconic venue. Hybe described Gwanghwamun Square as a space “where the history and identity of the Republic of Korea, as well as today’s culture, live and breathe together.”
“Hybe is extremely honored to have been able to stage a performance for the entire world at this place,” the statement read. “We deeply thank the police, firefighting, and government and local government officials who worked to ensure this concert wrapped up safely.”
The company also extended its thanks and offered apologies to Seoul citizens who experienced road closures, security measures, and other disruptions during the concert. Hybe pledged to swiftly develop strategies, in collaboration with relevant organizations, to protect and promote national heritage sites.
Authorities initially projected a crowd of approximately 260,000 attendees, including 22,000 ticket holders. However, final estimates placed the actual attendance at 48,000 fans. Hybe’s own crowd estimate was approximately 104,000 people.
