BTS member RM sustained a leg injury on Thursday and was immediately taken to the hospital for examination and treatment, according to a statement released by BigHit Music. Doctors diagnosed ligament damage and inflammation, advising him to wear a leg cast and limit movement for a minimum of two weeks.

This injury occurred just two days before BTS is scheduled to perform a free outdoor concert at 8 p.m. on Friday in celebration of their fifth full-length album, “Arirang.”

Despite the injury, RM has expressed a strong commitment to participating in the event, which is slated to take place at Gwanghwamun Square, a significant landmark in the heart of Seoul, the agency stated.

“Prioritizing the medical team’s advice and to prevent further aggravation of the injury, we have made the difficult decision, in consultation with the artist, to restrict RM’s movements during the performance,” the agency announced, adding that certain choreography and stage performances would be adjusted to avoid exacerbating the injury.

During a Weverse live broadcast later that day to commemorate BTS’ comeback, RM shared that he had been “preparing an amazing stage and concert performance,” but admitted to “pushing myself a bit too hard during practice,” ultimately leading to the injury.

“I won’t be able to join the choreography because it became difficult for me to perform right now. But I’ll still be on stage,” he assured fans.

He clarified that the injury was “not very serious” and that he intends to focus on recovery before the concert to showcase his best possible condition to everyone.
