The Ministry of Science and ICT, the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), and Hybe have established a collaborative communication channel to proactively address potential cybersecurity threats during the highly anticipated concert at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul this Saturday.
Law enforcement anticipates approximately 260,000 attendees in the area spanning from Gwanghwamun Square to Sungnyemun Gate, marking the largest gathering since the 2002 World Cup celebrations. The concert will be streamed globally via Netflix.
KISA will diligently monitor 37 relevant websites, including its own, 24/7 to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities, providing crucial technical support to ensure operational stability and prevent distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks and other online threats.
Officials from the Ministry of Science and ICT will be present on-site to support and maintain emergency communication systems throughout the event.
Science Minister Bae Kyung-hoon affirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring a stable telecommunications environment, noting the deployment of 18 mobile base stations in collaboration with mobile carriers and Netflix to support the concert.
