Ahead of BTS’ highly anticipated free comeback concert at Gwanghwamun Square this Saturday, President Lee has emphasized the critical importance of security. Police estimate that a crowd of up to 260,000 people could gather in the surrounding area.
“The BTS concert, which is drawing global attention, is only a few days away,” President Lee stated during a Cabinet meeting held in Sejong City. “Safety is paramount, and I urge that every effort be made to establish comprehensive safety measures.”
President Lee directed the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, police, fire departments, and other relevant agencies to maintain a high state of alert and to prepare thoroughly for all potential scenarios.
“Preparations should also include the possibility of terrorism, although the likelihood may not be high,” he added.
President Lee also called for a review of safety standards at accommodation facilities throughout the city to ensure the event’s successful and secure execution.
