BLACKPINK’s latest release has achieved remarkable success, selling over 177,000 copies in its first week, according to YG Entertainment, citing Hanteo Chart data.
This figure represents a new record for first-week album sales by a K-pop girl group, surpassing their previous album, “Born Pink,” by 230,000 units.
In the K-pop scene, initial weekly sales are a vital indicator of an artist’s popularity and fanbase size.
Demonstrating its immediate success, “Deadline” rapidly claimed the top spot on Hanteo’s monthly albums chart for February, achieving 1,468,894 copies sold just two and a half days after its release, as announced in Wednesday’s chart update.
Since its debut, the new album has also topped iTunes albums charts in 38 countries and regions worldwide.
