Directed by Jang Hang-jun, “The King’s Warden” depicts the final years of King Danjong, the deposed Joseon Dynasty ruler (1392–1910), during his exile in Yeongwol, Gangwon Province, alongside a village chief and its inhabitants.
Starring acclaimed actors Park Ji-hoon, Yoo Hae-jin, Yoo Ji-tae, and Jeon Mi-do, “The King’s Warden” quickly exceeded 3 million admissions, marking it as the first film of the year to achieve this milestone.
