Geonwoo, a member of the rookie K-pop group Alpha Drive One, will temporarily suspend all scheduled activities and take time for self-reflection, his agency WakeOne Entertainment announced on Wednesday.
The K-pop idol issued a public apology via his agency, expressing deep regret for disappointing fans with his ‘immature behavior.’ This follows recent online rumors alleging that Geonwoo had verbally abused a broadcast writer during a variety show recording.
WakeOne Entertainment clarified that the incident occurred prior to Geonwoo’s debut. The agency stated that he had, unknowingly, expressed frustration over a situation using ‘inappropriate language’ while his microphone was active, emphasizing it was an isolated event.
Alpha Drive One, the eight-member rookie boy group that debuted in January after forming from finalists of the popular audition show ‘Boys II Planet,’ will proceed with its upcoming schedules as a seven-member unit. This includes their highly anticipated fan concert slated for June.
