BTS Achieves Record-Breaking Success on Global Charts with ‘ARIRANG’
Global superstars BTS are making waves once again, achieving unprecedented success on international charts with their latest release, ‘ARIRANG’.
According to the UK Official Charts, released on March 28th, BTS’s fifth full-length album, ‘ARIRANG’, debuted at number one on the ‘Official Albums Chart Top 100’ (dated March 27th – April 2nd). This marks their third UK #1 album, following ‘MAP OF THE SOUL : PERSONA’ and ‘MAP OF THE SOUL : 7’. ‘ARIRANG’ also topped the ‘Official Vinyl Albums Chart’, further solidifying BTS’s stronghold in the UK music market.
The album’s title track, ‘SWIM’, landed at number 2 on the ‘Official Singles Chart Top 100’ on the same day. This is BTS’s highest-ranking single in the UK, surpassing the number 3 peaks achieved by ‘Dynamite’ in 2020 and ‘Butter’ in 2021. Additional tracks from the album, ‘Body to Body’ (28th) and ‘FYA’ (39th), also successfully charted.
On March 27th, Spotify, the leading global audio and music streaming platform, released its weekly charts (compiled from March 20th to 26th), showcasing BTS’s incredible achievements. BTS dominated the ‘Weekly Top Albums’, ‘Weekly Top Songs’, and ‘Weekly Top Artists’ global charts. All 14 tracks from ‘ARIRANG’ entered the upper ranks of the ‘Weekly Top Songs Global’ chart. The title track, ‘SWIM,’ garnered 82.26 million streams during the week, making it the most-streamed song released in 2026. The album’s B-sides also saw remarkable success, with ‘Body to Body’ (2nd), ‘Hooligan’ (4th), ‘FYA’ (5th), ‘NORMAL’ (6th), ‘Aliens’ (7th), ‘Like Animals’ (8th), ‘2.0’ (9th), and ‘they don’t know ’bout us’ (10th) all securing spots within the top 10. ‘Merry Go Round’ (12th), ‘One More Night’ (14th), ‘Please’ (16th), ‘Into the Sun’ (20th), and even ‘No. 29’ (22nd), featuring the sound of the Emille Bell, populated the upper echelons of the chart.
BTS also achieved a remarkable feat on the ‘Weekly Top Artists Global’ chart, marking their 232nd consecutive week on the chart, tying the record for the longest-charting artist. Global pop icons such as Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Billie Eilish, and Justin Bieber share this milestone with BTS. Furthermore, ‘SWIM’ maintained its number one position on the ‘Daily Top Songs Global’ chart for seven consecutive days (from March 20th to 26th).
The ‘ARIRANG’ phenomenon has also extended to the charts in Australia and France. According to the Australian ARIA charts released on March 27th, the album simultaneously topped the ‘Top 50 Albums’ and ‘Vinyl Chart’, achieving the highest rank among Korean artists this year. BTS has had a total of seven albums enter the ‘Top 10’ in Australia, with ‘Map Of The Soul : 7’ (2020) and ‘Proof’ (2022) also reaching number one. ‘SWIM’ debuted at number 4 on the ‘Top 50 Singles’ chart. A total of four songs, including ‘Body to Body’ (26th), ‘Hooligan’ (46th), and ‘FYA’ (48th), charted, demonstrating BTS’s unparalleled dominance in the global music market. ‘ARIRANG’ also reached the top of the French Albums Chart (SNEP) for the week of March 20-26.
Meanwhile, BTS released their remix album, ‘KEEP SWIMMING’, on March 27th, further amplifying the excitement surrounding their comeback. The album features a total of nine tracks, including seven remixes based on each member’s musical preferences.
