BTS’s V captivated audiences with his powerful performance and exceptional vocals during the group’s first comeback stage in New York City.
BTS attended the ‘Spotify x BTS: SWIMSIDE’ event at Pier 17 in New York on March 23rd (local time) to commemorate the release of their album ‘ARIRANG’.
The event, hosted by actress and singer-songwriter Suki Waterhouse, featured performances of BTS’s new album title track ‘SWIM’ and the B-side ‘2.0’, along with a Q&A session. Following the event, Suki Waterhouse sparked buzz by following both V and RM on Instagram.
Jeff Benjamin, a contributor to Billboard and Rolling Stone, commented, “V looked genuinely happy at the event. He was smiling throughout. Moreover, V’s vocals were truly outstanding – so clear, beautiful, and soft. I definitely want to see him perform at a jazz club someday.” He highly praised V’s stage presence and vocal abilities.
V previously garnered significant attention during the Gwanghwamun concert aired on Netflix, with social media flooded with inquiries about “who is the member with the red mic?”. At the New York performance, he appeared in a vintage leather jacket and delivered a flawless live performance, transitioning seamlessly between growling, true voice, and falsetto. His charismatic performance drew enthusiastic cheers from fans and resulted in the highest search volume after the event.

The New York Times, in its review of the ‘ARIRANG’ album, highlighted V’s solidified vocals, stating, “Among the vocalists, V delivers the most passionate and powerful voice.” V captivated fans worldwide by harmoniously blending performance, vocals, and expressive acting.
After the performance, V smiled upon seeing fans waving memo pads that read ‘WE STAYED’. V greeted them with, “You stayed?, Army stayed?” and expressed his gratitude to the fans who had waited for so long.
