BTS Fifth Album Oricon Chart Domination

BTS has dominated Japan’s Oricon charts, securing the number one position on the weekly album, weekly combined album, and weekly digital album rankings with their highly anticipated fifth studio album, “Arirang.” The achievement was announced by Oricon on Wednesday.

“Arirang” recorded a remarkable 11,851 downloads, according to Oricon’s data. This feat marks the highest number of downloads ever achieved by an international artist and places the album tenth overall in Oricon’s chart history.

Furthermore, the album’s focus track, “Swim,” maintained its reign at the top of Spotify’s global songs chart for a third consecutive day. Previously, BTS held all top 14 positions on the chart with tracks from “Arirang,” celebrating the septet’s comeback as a full group after a hiatus of over three and a half years.

“Arirang” has already sold nearly 4 million copies and amassed over 110 million streams on Spotify within a single day. The latter figure represents the highest number of streams achieved by any album released this year.

Following their spectacular comeback show in Gwanghwamun Square, Seoul, the band has journeyed to New York City to further promote “Arirang.” The group is scheduled to commence a highly-anticipated world tour starting in April.
