Global streaming service’s intimate ‘Swimside’ event connects group with top global listeners ahead of US TV appearances
Fresh off their highly anticipated comeback show for their new album “Arirang” at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul on Saturday, global sensation BTS landed in New York the following day to host an exclusive event, “Spotify x BTS: Swimside,” at Pier 17.
The event saw the group perform three tracks from their fifth full-length album — the title track “Swim” and B-sides “2.0” and “Normal” — which dropped just two days prior.
This Spotify event in New York prioritized an intimate setting, focusing on connection rather than sheer size. Approximately 1,000 dedicated fans, chosen from Spotify’s most engaged listeners, received exclusive invitations to the performance.
The “Swimside” event blended live performance with interactive fan experiences and engaging conversation. Besides BTS’s captivating live set, attendees participated in themed activities inspired by the “Arirang” album and enjoyed a Q&A session featuring the British actress and singer, Suki Waterhouse.

The showcase also held special significance as it marked BTS’ first group appearance in the US since 2022, rewarding loyal fans who have been eagerly awaiting the full group’s return to the stage.
Following the Spotify event, BTS is scheduled to appear on NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” for two consecutive nights, Thursday and Friday, much to the excitement of their American fanbase.
Meanwhile, BTS’ latest album continues its global chart domination. According to Spotify data released on Monday, the album’s lead single, “Swim,” held the No. 1 position on the Daily Top Songs Global chart for three consecutive days, from Friday to Sunday, while “Body to Body” secured the No. 2 spot during the same period.
