BTS’s V Receives High Praise from The New York Times for His Passionate and Powerful Vocals.

Global sensation BTS recently released their fifth full-length album, ‘ARIRANG,’ on March 20th. The following day, March 21st, they unveiled new tracks, including the title track ‘Swim,’ for the first time at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul. The ‘BTS COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG,’ broadcast live on Netflix, topped the charts in 77 countries.

The New York Times reviewed the album, stating, “The new album ‘ARIRANG’ from K-pop superstar BTS has generated huge commercial expectations and incorporates an artistic spirit.”

They further added, “Having reunited after military service, BTS appears more confident and unique than before. The tracks on the album ‘ARIRANG’ are raw, intense, pulsating, inventive, and sometimes feel frantically driven. They feel like they were created to maximize grandeur rather than being meticulously composed.”

BTS ARIRANG Album Review

The New York Times noted, “Although the role distribution among the members is well-defined, overall, ‘ARIRANG’ is much closer to a showcase for the rappers than the vocalists,” and emphasized V’s prominent presence as a vocalist on this album, stating, “Among the vocalists, V delivers the most passionate and powerful voice.”

V elevated the atmosphere of each track on ‘ARIRANG’ with his diverse vocal tones, creating a huge impact at the concert hall in Gwanghwamun Square. With an even more solid vocal foundation, he decorated the highlight sections, moving between genuine and falsetto tones, from the growling technique of rock and metal to soft low notes and high notes.

Despite his baritone low register, V realizes a wide range and enriches BTS’s music even further with various vocal techniques such as falsetto, belting, and vibrato. Showing stage presence with perfect performance as well as captivating vocals, V is proving his dazzling presence as a stage genius in the comeback stage after 4 years.
