Samsung Heavy Industries announced on Friday that it has been awarded a ₩377.9 billion (approximately $253 million) contract to construct a liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier for an Oceania-based shipping company.
The new LNG carrier is slated for delivery by April 2029, according to the company’s press release. Specific details about the client remain undisclosed.
This latest contract brings Samsung Heavy Industries’ year-to-date order total to $2.4 billion, representing approximately 17 percent of its ambitious annual order target of $13.9 billion.
