BTS bandmates hold about W20b in shares each
Hybe Chairman Bang Si-hyuk reigns supreme in South Korea’s culture and content industry when it comes to shareholder wealth, boasting shares valued at 4.8 trillion won ($3.2 billion) as of Tuesday. This is according to a report released Thursday by the Korea CXO Institute.
Bang Si-hyuk, the visionary behind the global sensation BTS, holds a commanding 13.15 million shares in Hybe Corporation – significantly exceeding the holdings of other prominent figures in the entertainment landscape.
The report highlighted that a total of 27 individual shareholders within the sector each possess stakes exceeding 10 billion won. Their collective holdings have experienced a 2.1 percent increase since the beginning of January, demonstrating the continued growth and financial strength of the South Korean entertainment industry.
Park Jin-young, founder and leading shareholder of JYP Entertainment, trails in second place with holdings valued at 362.7 billion won. YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun-suk follows closely behind with 225 billion won.
Furthermore, each of the seven members of the iconic K-pop group BTS is estimated to hold shares worth approximately 20 billion won, based on previously disclosed investment stakes in Hybe.
